UPDATE OF TAILORING DEPARTMENT February 2011

February 15, 2011

Our tailoring department, which operates under the auspices of the Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust, has been running successfully for the past four years. We have a limited number of lady tailors who we have trained, working under a supervisor and giving services to Bhagavan's hospitals, to His educational institutions, and to individual visitors.

Groups from all over the world visit our tailoring department, conveniently located inside the ashram. Recently we have been busy with the pilgrimage groups who came over a six-month period, from July, 2010 - Swami's 85th Birthday, needing their clothes stitched for performances in Sai Kulwant Hall, as well as their individual clothes.

The uneducated village ladies who make up our project workers now work with such great confidence. They manage the counter by themselves, taking the customers' measurements, keeping records with the samples of material given by them, preparing the bills and handling the cash, and then handing over the finished product. The project workers treat every customer with all respect, although the customers come from many different countries and our girls do not know their languages. Our project workers are putting into practice Swami's saying, "There is only one language, the language of the Heart."

In the past year, we have served more than ten thousand customers. We strive to provide our tailoring services on time, and with perfect fit, so that every customer who comes is satisfied, and encourages our project workers with praise. We return orders in 3 – 4 days, and charge nominal fees.

Our tailoring department timings:
Open: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
closed during lunch hour: 12 Noon to 1:00 pm.
Sundays closed
